The EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum has just published a new Trend Report focused on the Ethereum Merge.
The report provides the fundamentals for understanding the Ethereum platform and its consensus mechanism. It explains the merge through facts and figures, and analyses the energy consumption before and after the merge, explaining the reasons and detailing on potential drawbacks.
In its third chapter, the report explores the impacts beyond energy consumption - looking into aspects of performance, scalability and security.
