We are pleased to present you with our monthly update on the activities of the European Union Blockchain Observatory & Forum. This edition of the #EUBlockchain newsletter includes a brief roundup of upcoming workshops and publications.

Have your say on the Data Act & amended rules on the legal protection of databases!

The European Commission aims at collecting the views of Member States’ competent public authorities, academic and research institutions, business associations, industrial clusters, companies/businesses, consumer organisations, NGOs, trade unions and citizens. The consultation will collect information on the following:

  1. Business-to-government data sharing for the public interest
  2. Business-to-business data sharing
  3. Tools for data sharing: Smart Contracts
  4. Clarifying rights on non-personal Internet of Things data stemming from professional use
  5. Improving portability for business users of cloud services
  6. Complementing the portability right under Article 20 GDPR
  7. Intellectual Property Rights – Protection of Databases
