Official Newsletter of the European Union Blockchain Observatory & Forum

We are pleased to present you with our monthly update on the activities of the European Union Blockchain Observatory & Forum.

@BC_Convergence - Special announcement!

This month we have some very special news: a joint organising team composed of the European Commission, INATBA, the EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum and Alastria have announced the first edition of Convergence, the Global Blockchain Congress.

This unique blockchain event will be held from November 11-13, 2019 in Málaga, Spain. From the press release:

“Convergence aims to bring together a worldwide community of regulators, policy makers, industry influencers, C-suite and other corporate representatives, developers, researchers and entrepreneurs for an intense dialogue. It offers participants a chance to take part in direct discussion with the movers and shapers of the blockchain industry, and thereby help define not just the future of blockchain but the next generation Internet and digital economy.”

You can read the whole release on the EU Observatory website.

More on the event itself can be found at www.blockchainconvergence.com.

We look forward to seeing you in Spain in November!

#EUBlockchain publications

In June we published the final version of our academic research paper on Digital Assets. Prepared by the University of Southampton, one of the Observatory’s Academic Partners, topics covered in the paper include: tokens and transactions, fungible and non-fungible token standards, ICOs, and digital asset ecosystems.

You can find this as well as all our other academic research papers in the Knowledge section of our website.

We also caught up on our homework during the month by publishing the full reports of the last two workshops:

As a reminder, you can also get a shorter overview of the workshops from our blog post of 30 April (Governance workshop) and our blog post of 28 May (Digital Assets workshop).

#EUBlockchain events

The Healthcare workshop, originally scheduled for June, has been re-scheduled for September 4. As a result, there were no workshops in June. The current events schedule is as follows:

#EUBlockchain Online Community

Our online forum remains active. Here are some of the issues that caught the attention of our community during the month:

If you want to monitor the conversation or have your say, you are invited to join our online community.

We look forward to seeing you there! Inputs from this community of 1,500+ members play a major role in shaping the workshops and publications of the EU Blockchain Observatory & Forum.

Thank you!

As always, we would like to thank everyone who has been active in contributing to the Observatory. None of this would be possible without the participation of all of you in our community.

With best regards,
The EU Blockchain Observatory & Forum
