We are pleased to present you with our monthly update on the activities of the European Union Blockchain Observatory & Forum.

#EUBlockchain publications

At the beginning of March we published our latest thematic report. The topic this time was scalability, interoperability and sustainability of blockchains. As we wrote in the introduction:

“The timing seems right for such a paper. The blockchain ecosystem has been steadily maturing over the past several years, and projects are getting both larger and closer to going live, or have already done so. This is exciting, as we can expect several large platforms to attract significant user bases over the course of the year. Observing these projects and the development of the technology also allows us, perhaps for the first time, to see the outlines of what a “live” blockchain ecosystem might look like in the near term, as well as identify the main challenges and success factors involved.”

#EUBlockchain events

Having finished with scalability, we turned our attention to our next topic, which is the convergence of blockchain with AI and IoT. The examination kicked off with a workshop on 28 March. You can read about the discussions at the event on our blog.
